Cashew Milk
The first dairy free nut milk I made and I still think it’s one of my favourites. It lasts 3 to 5 days and can be used in cereal, cooking or drinks. This is a great dairy free milk for the family.
Approximately 1 litre
Ingredients:
200 g cashew nuts
900 ml water
Method:
Soak the nuts in the water for at least 2 hours but preferably overnight.
Place all ingredients in a blender and put on high speed until combined. This takes about 1 minute.
Strain through a muslin into a jug or bottle and cool in fridge.
Stir or shake before serving to ensure it is mixed.
Additional Notes:
Optional: For sweet milk
2 - 4 stoned dates, 1 tbsp agave nectar, 1 tsp vanilla or 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon.
Try around with the quantities until you get the level of sweetness you require.
Equipment Used:
Blender
Jug
Muslin cloth.
