Scrumptious Dairy-Free Lamb Rogan Josh

Gluten Free, Dairy Free Lamb Rogan Josh

Gluten Free, Dairy Free Lamb Rogan Josh

We love this Gluten-free, Dairy-free Lamb Rogan Josh recipe in our home. A mildly spiced, rich tomato dish I serve it with rice and gluten-free naan bread. I love Indian curry, but so many contain cream meaning I can’t have them! The creamy coconut is not traditionally used in Rogan Josh but makes a delicious contrast to the spices.

This recipe for a Rogan Josh style curry has no dairy or gluten. The taste is excellent and brings back the texture and flavour of Rogan Josh without any of the bad bits! I’ve even reduced the amount of salt. Just try it for yourself!

This recipe makes 4 portions. Serve with rice or gluten-free and dairy-free naan bread.

Ingredients:

Rogan Josh Paste

1 tbsp olive oil

500g diced lamb

100 ml chicken stock

200 ml coconut cream

salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method:

Heat the Olive oil in a pan and saute the lamb until it starts to brown.

Add the Rogan Josh Paste, together with the chicken stock and coconut cream and season.

Stir and bring to the boil.

Reduce the heat and cover the pan.

Simmer on the hob on the lowest heat or in a medium oven for about 1 hour. The lamb should be tender.

Serve with warm rice and gluten-free naan bread.

Additional Notes:

I often use lamb from a left over roast in this dish. You can make the Rogan Josh paste ahead of time and keep it in your refrigerator as part of a meal prep.

I often add additional vegetables into the dish such as peppers, spinach and potato. It depends on what I have left over in the fridge to use up!

If any of the gluten free, dairy free rogan josh is left, it can be frozen or kept in a fridge for a couple of days.

Remember to make this dish your own by adding extra spice if you wish.

Health and Auto-immune Diseases

I have auto-immune diseases and expected to be on medicine for the rest of my life, but I didn't want to live like that. My rheumatology Doctor was so supportive of the change I wanted to make, and with their help, I now manage my auto-immune diseases by being strict with my diet.

It can be quite frightening when you first find out you have to change the way you eat but for some of us' Food is our medicine.'

I have several websites, write blogs, and I'm currently in the process of writing a book.

I trained to be Holistic Health Coach, Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher and Certified Gluten Free Practitioner in order to heal myself, my family and others who find themselves on the same journey as myself.

Photography

Our love for photography started on our travels. We wanted to capture images of the areas we travelled to both for our own records and for our family back at home. Some of these images were reproduced as watercolours. Our favourite images we display at home and friends often asked where we had purchased the pictures! Now you can purchase them online directly from us.
